The Place Agency platform inspires a way to discover people, places and nature. Beneficial to the individual. Transformative to the local community. It is based around sandbox methodology, overcoming some of the risk, and time constraints of consultation – all you have to do is jump in and play.

We look to promote an all-inclusive community-led process of “co creation”

We integrate ecological and social aspects into placemaking

We aim to bring together industry, academia and community

Creating the capacity for people to invest space with meaning within their community. We seek to educate and promote local communities and the world about placemaking. Place Agency looks beyond the classroom by bringing our learnings to the industry and wider community. A collaboration between 5 universities across 5 states we look to create a common placemaking language around Australia. It is critical for sustainability that people feel a sense of place, a right to contribute to it and a responsibility to be custodian, this project helps this emerge. We do this through summits, capacity building, university subjects and studios bringing students practitioners and councils together.
