As the world’s largest program of its kind, 550,000 students from 1 in 5 Australian schools participate in Start Smart yearly.

Key steps to make it happen

1Research

In-depth research recommends that financial education starts as early as possible and is taught in schools.

2Consultation

We consulted with financial education experts and specialists in education, cognitive development and instructional design.

3Alignment

Both the Primary and Secondary programs are mapped to the school curricula in each State and territory.

4Facilitate

Our national team of outstanding facilitators go into classrooms and deliver accessible, motivating and inspiring content.

5Reach

The program is free and available to all schools across Australia.

6Feedback

We capture feedback from both students and teachers to ensure the content is relevant and has the intended long-term impact.

Start Smart is an award-winning financial education program offered free to school students across Australia to help them prepare for their future. Conducted by world-class facilitators, the interactive, educational workshops are designed to motivate and inspire students and give them the confidence and skills to make smart decisions about money.
