It provides a framework to enable, empower and advance the urban water industry’s contribution to society through connecting with the SDGs.
The industry commitment is to achieve Goal 6 as well as support and promote all 17 Goals
The Paper includes 13 case studies from water utilities around Australia on their work to advance the Goals.
Many water utilities are now considering how they can contribute to and advance the Goals. A number of utilities have done exercises to map the work they already do against the Goals and are looking to embed the Goals within their strategic direction.
Global goals for local communities outlines how the urban water industry in Australia is already meeting challenges set by the SDGs and provides a framework to further advance the industry’s contribution.
The Paper includes a commitment from the water industry to the SDGs as well as 13 case studies from water utilities around Australia on their work to advance the Goals. The commitment articulates the intent of the industry to support and promote the SDGs in partnership with other utilities, customers and stakeholders.
