Qantas’ Future Planet program is a sustainability initiative that aims to engage like-minded organisations who are looking to reduce their environmental impact where they can, offset what they can’t and demonstrate vision through collaborative innovation and action.

Project implemented: Since 2015

Project goal

Through partnerships and technology, Qantas’ Future Planet program is building a network of sustainability leaders to inspire new ideas that connect people with choices that are good for our planet, and build the future we all want.

delivering on

why is this project important?

Through Qantas’ investment into carbon offset projects right around Australia, the Future Planet program is helping to deliver important social and environmental outcomes. This includes supporting the employment of Indigenous rangers in northern Australia who are using traditional practices to promote the regeneration of native vegetation.

Projects supported through Qantas’ Future Planet program also directly protect iconic Australian landscapes, including temperate wilderness in Tasmania, and restore native vegetation in the Great Barrier Reef catchment. Our impact extends to other unique landscapes, including Kangaroo Island, home to 15 bird and 52 plant species found nowhere else on Earth.

Qantas’ Future Planet program is also building a network of leaders in corporate sustainability across Australia. This includes some of Australia’s largest and most respected brands. Through this network, we are inspiring new thinking into products and services that have a positive impact on both people and planet.
