Recycling, reusing and repurposing products to extend lifecycle and investing in creation of environmentally conscious innovation.
Project implemented: November 2016
To reduce our impact on the environment by collaboration with customers, suppliers and employees.
Under the Paris Agreement, Australia has pledged to cut carbon emissions to zero by 2050, and requires the cooperation of industry to secure our global future.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop a mutually beneficial and environmentally conscious action plan.
Expand carbon-offset programmes and invest in environmental groups and programs in major manufacturing hubs.
Find new ways to recycle, reuse and repurpose; create new technology to replace current environmentally damaging products.
Increased participation in community activities with our environmental partner, Landcare, with over 40 employees dispatched for a volunteer day to help revitalise and clean their local area.
Increased investment and interest in green technologies, recycling and repurposing by internal and external stakeholders.
Employees more motivated to recycle all products, with battery, coffee pod and ink cartridge recycling facilities available on-site. Much of the products that would usually end up in landfill are now able to be returned to their manufacturer for reuse.
The world we live in is facing unprecedented environmental challenges, and cooperation is needed to mitigate and eliminate the threats to our global future. We have examined where to reuse, recycle and repurpose… “rescuing” ink cartridges, coffee pods and providing employees with KeepCups. Partnership with Landcare assists us in taking immediate action close to home by revitalising bushland areas damaged by human intervention, and cleaning up once-pristine Australian beaches. Implementing our EcoVision for 2050 we have begun a journey to all green products, factories and marketing, fostered by environmentally focused innovation to exercise responsibility for the global environment. Our new inkjet textile printer reduces size usage by 97%, water usage by 62% and electricity usage by 57%, as one method of improving a necessary but resource heavy industry. Investment in OLED, a greener and brighter alternative to LEDs, is a mark of the future potential of further investment in green technology and manufacturing. Creating a Carbon Neutral Machine Program assists businesses in transforming their office printing requirements into carbon neutral assets.
