Konica Minolta was instrumental as an advisor to the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade to advocate for the creation of a Modern Slavery Act in Australia.
Konica Minolta has established international humanitarian partnerships with Project Futures to facilitate the rescue and rehabilitation of Cambodian women and girls subject to sex slavery. Also, advocating for the creation of an Australian Modern Slavery Act to eliminate discriminatory, unethical and slave-like conditions present in many business practices. This includes focusing on ethical sourcing, maintaining supply chain responsibility and acting ethically and justly to fulfil humanitarian and environmental commitments. Domestically, partnership with the Smith Family promotes the protection and assistance of vulnerable persons, aiding children to escape poverty and build brighter futures. Our support of the BCNA provides aid in the research and support of women with Breast Cancer. Working towards achieving gender balance as advised by the WGEA in eliminating like-for-like pay imbalance, removing unconscious bias and achieving gender equality at all levels of employment ensures that all people are treated fairly and assessed only on their professional merit. Advancement of women is a key component of the SDGs and must be approached cohesively.
